Harmony Week x Crown Hair

For those who hadn’t noticed, it was Harmony Week last week! Each year, Harmony Week celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity, and Crown Hair are strong believers that everyone belongs. Read on to find out more about Crown Hair’s fundraising efforts for the Asylum Seekers Centre as part of Harmony Week 2019!

Harmony Week seeks to celebrate multiculturalism in Australia and the successful integration of migrants into the community. Orange is the colour used to celebrate the week, a colour that signifies social communication, freedom of ideas and mutual respect. So it made sense to the team at Crown Hair to approach the Asylum Seekers Centre based in the inner west suburb of Newtown to help raise donations as part of the ethos of Harmony Week.

Who are the Asylum Seekers Centre? They are a not-for-profit organisation, who provide support for people seeking asylum, living in the community. This support comes in the form of financial relief, counselling, employment assistance, health care, education and food and recreation. Their purpose is to create a supportive and welcoming community, and this is one of the reasons Crown Hair thought the ASC to be the perfect fit for Harmony Week.

As well as raising awareness for the work of the ASC, Crown Hair pledged to donate $25 from each orange based hair colour during Harmony Week, as well as collecting donations in salon. Crown raised $250 for the ASC this year!
