Crown Hair has been thrilled to have Bond Forbes-Rorie as part of the team as Principal Stylist for the last 5 months. Working with industry heavyweights such as Helmet Hair and Headcase Salons, Bond loves to push the envelope and Bringing a wealth of knowledge and a keen eye for creating a daring new chop or the bounciest blow dry you could hope for, Bond gives us a few quick snips on his career so far.

How did you get your start in hairdressing? After spending some time with my career adviser in high school. After sitting an aptitude test, it turned out I was best suited to childcare, floristry or hairdressing. So I went out and started my apprenticeship and never looked back.

What’s your favourite part of being a hairdresser? Getting to hang out with, chat to and of course cut and style folks from all walks of life. Being able to see how happy a client is with their new cut is always something that makes the job easier! I also enjoy collaborating with my colleagues for the best result, and so our clients can strut out of the salon with confidence!

 

Where do you draw inspiration from? I draw inspiration from so many different and varied sources, including music, graffiti/street art, cartoons/pop culture, my colleagues, fashion and 90’s LA skate punk.

Tell us about some of your career highlights? Getting to train under/work with some of the most talented hairdresssers in the industry, as well as being able to travel the world and meet some amazing friends and idols along the way.
