“We were first personally introduced to Saskia by long term client and equally amazing human being, Louise Olsen of Dinosaur Designs” explains Crown Hair Director, Kathy Gilbert. “Mark and I were immediately drawn to Saskia’s passion and commitment to excellence in her craft. I just love what she is about and her story”.

Saskia’s Grandiflora scents and the flowers are an integral part of the salon’s ambiance. It brings another level of luxury to our little Darlinghurst oasis along with offering a high end gift ideas to clients.

The Grandiflora gift range at Crown consists of perfectly constructed bouquets, in the form of fragrances and candles, created by Saskia with French perfumers, Sandrine Videault and Michel Roudnitska.

The first fragrance made in the Grandiflora collection is Magnolia Grandiflora Sandrine, a magnolia based fragrance that was named after its perfumer, Sandrine, who sadly passed away in 2013.

Magnolia Grandiflora Michel,  also named after its perfumer, is a whole other blend rich with lemon, bergamot and grapefruit with a heart of jasmine, ylang ylang, magnolia, and a hint of patchouli.

Madagascan Jasmine stands alone with jasmine at its core that is balanced with subtle green notes and threads of musk to deliver a very light, fresh scent.

Then there is the newest addition, Queen of the Night. This captivating fragrance is of a flower that blooms for only one night a year and dies at dawn. It is aptly described as “one of nature’s most beautiful, fleeting scents”.

“The thing I particularly love about the Grandiflora fragrances is that they are real, traditional perfumes so you only need the tiniest amount for a lasting scent that is not overwhelming.

The candles have the same qualities. They are so, so special. They’re made by the oldest Candlemaker in the world, Cire Trudon, and sit in these handmade Italian porcelain vessels. They are natural, elegant and beautiful, just like Saskia”.
