Benoit has recently moved to Sydney from Paris, having trained at the renowned Dessange Group in Paris. He joins the ranks at Crown Hair as our Principal stylist (10 years + experience). His focus is only cutting and styling, and he’s already gathered some fans in his short time at the salon!

I started my apprenticeship with Dessange Group at 16 years old. I chose hair dressing because I was drawn to the creative side of things. It was interesting to me to be able to create different shapes and textures in hair.  I liked being able to advise my clients on what worked best for their individual needs and wants, and to create a look that they love.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

I am inspired by contemporary street styles, shapes in modern art and by fashion and cinema. I am inspired to create an identity for each client, and adapt my influences to their personal style.

 I enjoy working with Crown because I think it is a good place to be able to express my creativity. We take the time with the customer to understand what they are looking for, and to me that is very important. The customer should always come first. I am glad to be part of a team and work with clients where I’m able to bring my expertise and personal style to our customers.

I enjoy hairdressing because I’m lucky to have a job where I can be in my element creatively, and to be able to work with like -minded creative people. I like that I can meet different personalities in my work, this keeps it interesting for me. The added bonus of being able to travel anywhere in the world with my chosen profession, makes it even more exciting for me.
