Let’s Talk About Scalps, Baby…

We all know the scenario. A niggling itch, snowflakes on black clothing dusted away as quickly as they fall onto the shoulders. While so much emphasis is placed on hair health and integrity, scalp care and condition rarely makes the cut of topics to chat about.

Well, here at Crown Hair, our approach to hair care has always been holistic, and that means making sure your scalp health is up to scratch too (pun intended).

Tricho productIt’s often played upon by popular brands in the market that scalp problems are first and foremost an embarrassment, although to the suffers of conditions such as dry scalp, dandruff, psoriasis or dermatitis – the sheer discomfort of their condition is enough to prompt action.

Crown Hair are proud advocates of the De Lorenzo Tricho Scalp Control Range, so it made perfect sense to have a team refresher with the delightful Greg from De Lorenzo.

InstagramDelorenzoSufferers of dry scalps should look to the Tricho Scalp Balance Range for respite. Paraben and sulfate free, the range targets symptoms such as itching, redness, scaling and flaking. The range is colour safe (phew!), acid balanced and with a pH of 4.5-5.5 to maintain optimum scalp health.

Greg explained to the Crown team that internal health factors such as stress, hormone imbalance and autoimmune disorders should be taken into consideration for scalp conditions, and that the Tricho range was developed with this mind.

SensitiveAs well as the Scalp Balance range, Tricho also offers a Relief Creme, soothing Balm and a Sensitive Shampoo and Conditioner which has been dermatologically certified for sensitive skin types.

Featuring willow root, ginger and chamomilla recutita flower extracts, the Sensitive Shampoo and Conditioner work to provide antiseptic, antibacterial and tone and soothe the scalp.

Tricho classGreg also gave the Crown Hair team an up-close and personal look at our own scalps with the Dino-Lite Trichoscope. Discovering the relationship between the hair and scalp at such close proximity was something the Crown Hair team won’t forget in a hurry!

If you’re suffering from a problematic scalp, be sure to chat to your stylist next time you’re in salon, or to your GP for any other concerns.
