Introducing Antonia

Crown Hair strongly believes that our apprentices are our present and our future. They make our present day to day running of the salon seamless, and they are the future of the salon, as they step up to take on their own clients on the floor. Here at Crown, we take our responsibilities as mentors seriously, and the knowledge that Kathy and Mark have accumulated over the years is shared freely.

This is especially apt, as crown’s third year apprentice Antonia Calabrese moves towards qualifying in a few short months. Colour has always been a point of interest for Antonia, and she has spent the last year of her apprenticeship learning by the side of Crown’s Director of Colour Kathy gilbert.

Antonia has already begun stepping up to the colour plate at crown hair, which is why we’ve taken 5 with our Junior Colourist!

The importance of the “colour wheel” when formulating a colour is key and I love being able to formulate colour for our clients. The creativity is endless! I don’t think I could ever get bored of colouring.

I look around me, whether I’m out for a walk or on the train, I look around to see what I like or what I don’t.

What do you most look forward to as you transition into your new role as Junior Colourist? Being even more involved on the floor at crown.
